"Though the bill has been written with film and music in mind, the wording easily incorporates games."

Haven't seen the bill itself but this is literally nothing at all. Bills take along time to pass, we have bigger issues in America. And game companies probably wouldn't like this because all those videos are free advertising for them.

I don't think the bill even effects video game companies. Isn't it just targeting streams of games? Not adverts.

    Re: New Anti-Streaming Bill

It does effect the company, because videos of their games are advertisement for them, even if the company isn't paying for it, and it's not actually intended to be an advertisement. This is because YouTube videos of video games encourage people to buy games, since viewers can still experience playing the game after watching it being played. This does not apply to movies on YouTube, because if you can see the whole thing on YouTube, then you don't have a reason to buy the movie. This is why it would be helpful if the bill was more specific on how it would be enforced if it becomes a law. For example, it may prevent only the streaming of movies, TV shows, etc, but not video game footage and perhaps "some karaoke video".

    Please ignore above post.

And yes, this bill would make Youtube more of the WMG-dominated wasteland it already is. Contrary to what the people for it think, this is not making anything any better.
