For that, i would suggest, to install the addon W.O.T (Web of Trust), it´s free and it gives you all information about the sites you want, plus, if a Site is infected or not trustworthy, then it stops you and gives you a warning with a choice to go further or leave it to a secure site. The same does AVIRA Antivirus, also Malwarebyte´s Antimalware. About how to use Malwarebyte you can PM me and i´ll give you some useful tips.

Go to google.com and type in free anti virus.
You'll understand when you do it.
and its always like your computer has massive viruses, even though it doesn't and it will just give you viruses instead of deleting it.
Also its always like this site has been trusted by everybody, even DR. PHIL has given us a medal for being so awesome.

i got firebug and java quick starter, google update, java deployment toolkit, java (tm) platform SE 6
microsoft DRM, shockwave flash and shockwave flash for director and vindows media player
that was the plugins and things i got in firefox...am i safe?

That´s not a bad rating, that´s the standard-rating for the beginning, because, nobody has rated it until today.
Just now i´ve written the very first comment for our site and submitted it to W.O.T:

This is a really fantastic community, that becomes better and better, there everybody tries to help each other as good as he can. You can really learn alot there, plus, it´s very safe. Yeah, you're safe, unless the plugins' installing files are infected, but with those plugins, that is very unlikely to happen.
Don't worry, you're safe as long as you're careful with what you download.
