Theoretically, it may be possible to continue life. If we already had underground shelters that used geothermal energy, since the core would still be working, we could generate heat, electricity and water. With electricity we could have light and keep the food chain running. We could turn an icy underground cave into a tropical paradise. However, this marvel would have to be achieved with rapid speed since the Earth would cool off very quickly.
